Men seem to collect so many bits and pieces they just cant part with and so I decided to create a small box to try and contain the clutter on my husbands bedside table. To make the box I primed a small wooden box with acrylic primer before adding one of the beautiful images from the rice paper with two beautiful mountain scenes from the Whispers of the Mountains collection.
For the sides of the box I built up layers of interest by layering antiquing paints in brown, green and a very pale green rubbing off layers so that all three colours are visible.
My next step was to add moulded elements painted in colours that compliment the main image.
The whole piece was then varnished so that if is durable for everyday use. Inside the box I added elements of papers from Whispers of the Mountain AA-WOTM-08
